As a parent it is natural to turn in to children’s demands for pizza and ice creams. All taste but no nutrition and most importantly lowers immunity. The quantities of sugars, fat and salt that are high in processed foods alters the immune system and can lead to hypertension, fatigue, mood swings, excess weight on thighs, slow learning abilities and diabetes. It might seem a challenge to keep junk food away from children. But a little effort to maximise their intake of right food now can protect their immunity in the long run.
