Benefits of Turmeric Ganesha

Aug 29, 2022

When you make your own turmeric Ganesha, you not only get the satisfaction of your own creation but you will also be saving water bodies and helping plants grow healthy, post immersion. Since pure turmeric is a natural antibiotic and disinfectant, the water in which turmeric Ganesha is immersed, can be used for plants. It serves as organic manure that increases soil fertility, boosts plant growth and also purifies water.

The idols made of plaster of Paris (PoP) might look charming but the hazardous effects following the immersion can leave a deadly impact on the environment and human health. All the plaster forms a layer at the bottom of water, which is a big threat to fish living in the lake. If the post immersion mud is used for farms, the chemicals damage the crops. Secondly PoP idols are not biodegradable which means they remain intact for several months in water. The paints are highly poisonous chemicals and heavy metals present in the idols do not dissolve. What is the point of worshipping, celebrating in grandeur and later finding the dismembered Ganesha idols lying near the water bodies? The lord of new beginnings does not deserve this treatment. As a responsible devotee, take a pledge to retain the purity in divinity by do-it-yourself turmeric Ganesha to preserve and pass on the tradition to your children and have a pollution free celebration.

A very informative article motivated towards the conversation of natural resources. The use of turmeric acts as manure making the water more useful to be poured on plants. The same is the case for water bodies as turmeric enhances the nutritional value of the water when mixed. It also prevents the mixing of harmful dyes into the water bodies.
