Risk of heart attacks high on Mondays?

Research shows a 24 % increase in heart attacks on Mondays. Health experts feel it is because of the sudden rise of cortisol (the stress hormone) on waking up in the morning. Stress is the primary factor for heart attacks. Consumption of alcohol during weekends is an added risk. Sleeping late is yet another reason as it affects the body’s natural rhythm. Reducing stress, making healthful choices and exercising are the best ways to reduce the risk of cardiac issues.
