Each strand of hair is stronger than a copper wire of the same diameter. This happens because of its high tensile strength. Tensile strength is the maximum pressure hair can withstand when pulled or stretched. The water content in the hair keeps it hydrated. And the disulphide bonds that hold your hair are the strongest and can be broken only by high heat or chemicals.
